Ranking Priorities

When laying down all my work for the weekend right in front of me, it was easy to prioritize my work. When writing down each assignment for each class I wrote next to it how many points that assignment was. This helped me get a feel for what was most important, and helped me decide what to put the most time into. After realizing I actually have work done on saturday and sunday, I would have to complete this first while still working on the long term assignments due monday. Even though all of the assignments due Monday were more important than the ones due Saturday and Sunday, I still had to complete all the assignments on time. Luckily I only need to gather everything together for my Student faculty interview project. The exam on Monday is something I try to look at every day. This is a big part of my grade and I am trying to do put in the time to do that as well as the short term homework assignments. While studying for the exam on Sunday I can complete the 2 online assessments, which will help me do better on the exam. I feel as if getting ahead is definitely a benefit when ranking priorities. Yes you do not want to fall behind and miss a small assignment but you also have to put time and effort into long term assignments, papers, and exams. This helped me to spread my time out and set goals when to finish each assignment. I have a paper worth 15% of my grade due Wednesday and luckily I have been working on it for a couple weeks so I do not have to do it in 2 days. This is a busy time for me with exams and long term projects so ranking priorities will help me, especially in the few weeks ahead.

  1. Seems like the Ranking Priorities Strategy was effective for most of us, that's good to hear, I think it's a very effective and efficient strategy that enables you to visually see the work you have to complete by your due dates. I like the fact you wrote down your due dates so then you knew exactly how much time you had to complete them even if they weren't the most important assignment to complete, that's great. And it's good that you realize the small assignments are just as important as the larger assignment, they just don't need as much time or effort necessarily.

    Keep up the good work.

  2. Rob I'm glad Ranking Priorities had the same impact on you as it did for me. Its is great that you found this strategy extremely helpful. It thereby enabled you to complete the faculty interview project and study for your exam.
I would try to make your image more clear because it is difficult to see the visual of what you did. Again I'm happy this strategy made your weekends work much easier on you.

  3. Ranking priorities definitely seems to have worked for you. You seemed to have analyzed the strategy and really took the time in to take into account what was the greatest motivation to finish each assignment and from there prioritize them but at the same time not neglecting the lower ranked assignment as they all made it onto the list because they are all "Need to Do" assignments and tasks.
